2008/12	18/07/2008	Over 10,000 people visited over the two days	Despite poor weather over the Saul Canal Festival weekend, organisers finalising the figures say that just over 10,000 people visited over the two days, and around £20,000 was raised for restoration of the local canals.

2008/7	21/5/2008	Saul Stories is about to be published	Off and on for the last three years, a Gloucestershire author, Gwilym Branch – he doesn’t want to use his real name – has been researching and writing a book on the history and happenings on the Sharpness Canal around Saul, Frampton and the River Severn.
2008/6	19/5/2008	A family trip on the canal	With late Spring Bank Holiday coming, and weather turning warmer, it’s time to take to the water – with a family trip on the canal at Saul or on the Thames at Lechlade. Or both over the coming weekend.

2008/3	25/3/2008	Trailable boats welcome	For the very first time, Saul Canal Festival in July this year will be able to welcome trailable boats, by a special arrangement with the new Saul Marina, on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal.
2008/2	10/3/2008	TV celebrity to open the festival	BBC2’s Coast celebrity and maritime archaeologist, Dr Mark Horton, will be doing the honours and opening the Saul Canal Festival on July 5th.

Work on organising this year’s Saul Canal Festival and Folk on the Water Weekend is gathering pace, following the “wash-out floods” of 2007. Already most of the bands from last year, especially top-of-the-bill Oysterband, have agreed to be there.
2007/12	13/11/2007	Big-hearted gestures	Further big-hearted gestures from sponsors, traders and ticket-holders have reduced the loss of cancelling the flooded-out Saul Canal Festival & Folk on the Water weekend last July.
