Saul Canal Festival an annual event since 1997, organised by the Cotswold Canals Trust and British Waterways. Supported by Stroud District Council, and the Waterway Recovery Group.
What: A Boat Gathering & Folk Festival. Hundreds of visiting boats from all over the country, Marine Trades Show & Craft Fair, Children's Entertainments, Demonstrations, Music, Theatre, and Real Ale in The Drum & Monkey Ale House,
When: The first weekend in July every year
Where: Picturesque waterside location. Saul Junction, the junction of the Gloucester - Sharpness Canal and The Stroudwater Navigation, near Frampton on Severn Gloucestershire, 2 miles from Junction 13 on the M5. Post code: GL2 7A
Why: Any profits
from the Festival will be given to the Cotswold Canals Trust Restoration Fund. When restored The Cotswold Canals (Stroudwater Navigation and the Thames & Severn Canal) will together form a 36-mile link between the Rivers Severn & Thames.
Saul Canal Festival - Aims & Objectives
Aims
- To promote Saul Junction, the 'cross roads' of the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal and Stroudwater Navigation
- To endorse the re-opening of the Cotswold Canals for the benefit of the community
- To raise funds to assist in the restoration
Objectives
- Stage an event where the owners of canal, river and coastal craft can meet
- Provide an opportunity for the public to view commercial, historic and leisure vessels
- Create a trading, entertainment and education arena for all

Cotswold Canals Trust Aims
1. To promote, for the benefit of the community, the reopening of the Cotswold Canals
2. To manage the restoration of the two waterways to give a balance between the needs of navigation, development, recreation, heritage, landscape conservation, wildlife and natural habitats
3. To promote the use of the towpath for all as the Thames & Severn Way long distance footpath
4. The restoration of the Cotswold Canals as a navigable route from Saul Junction to the River Thames
